What a difference a year makes – Porco bought a few bottles of Torres Miramar Russian Valley Chardonnay 2003 and have been drinking a bottle every few months. The early bottles were sharp, unsettled and pretty tannic. The one I opened last weekend was completely different – sweet, smooth and still oaky but excellent in a slightly over the top way. Not as good as the Kistler but similar and selling at a fifth of the price.
